We’ve earned three Social Media certificates, including one from Northwestern. We think of Digital Marketing and Social Media as additional tools to consider when trying to boost awareness and/or generate trial. They don’t always replace some of the more traditional media, but they can be more targeted and economical.

A Not-For-Profit Struggles to Utilize their Google Grant

Unlike television, we believe the most majority of people go online hoping to accomplish something. TV is very passive, online surfing is active. We’d argue “surfing’ is a misnomer; people search online.

Google Grants

Google grants qualifying Not-For-Profits $10,000 a month in free advertising. Sounds simple, until you try to use it! A Not-For-Profit had four campaigns utilizing less than $300 a month. Then they hired OutBranding.

The Solution

OutBranding rewrote the ads emphasizing downloadable resources and tangible solutions. Earlier campaigns had not emphasized strongly enough what the Not-For-Profit could offer the searcher.

The Results

Monthly Google AdWord usage rose from $300 to nearly $9,000 a month.
